Environmental works are kept in house where possible. We have a hands on approach for all environmental work undertaken by Ecology Services Limited. For recent contracts, in-house employees have been on site on a daily basis to supervise projects and field workers. We consider it to be very important to be in the field, managing/supervising projects to enable any problems to be avoided/amended as soon as possible.

Managing Director:

Mrs Lyn Eccles-Sargeant B.Sc. (Hons) Environmental Management, IEEM member, licensed great crested newt and white-clawed crayfish surveyor, holder of several Natural England (EPS) mitigation licences.

Senior Ecologist:

Mrs Su O’Neill B.A. (Hons) PGCE Affiliate Member of IEEM, licensed Great crested newt surveyor, holder of Natural England Conservation Licence. Su specialises in habitat and protected species surveys, including Environmental Impact Assessments, River Corridor Surveys, Extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys, BREEAM’s and Natural England European Protected Species (EPS) mitigation Method Statements. Species works include Small mammal surveys, including Water vole, Badger surveys, Repteile surveys, Otter Surveys and Habitat Suitability Indes assessments. Su is currently undertaking taining for her bat survey licence.

Ecologist:

Simon Booth has a life long interest in conservation and wildlife and has several years’ consultancy experience. Simon is an Affiliate Member of IEEM. Protected species licences include Great crested newt, Lesser silver water beetle, Schedule 1 birds, Natterjack toad and Sand lizard. Simon specialises in Extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys, botanical surveys, including Phase 2 and National Vegetation Classification (NVC) surveys. He also undertakes Breeding Bird Survey (BBS) and assessment; Reptile surveys, Aquatic macro invertebrate surveys and BREEAM for sustainable developments.

Ecologist:

Jennifer Cliff B.Sc. (Hons) Environmental Studies & Geography Graduate Member of IEEM. Jennifer is the newest member of our team and specilises in Great crested newt surveys and mitigations, Butterfly surveys, Extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys and Assessments. She also is adapt at designing Habitat Management Plans for designated sites and Method Statements for the protection of Species of Principle Importance where affected by developments.

Sub-Contractors:

Sub-contractor requirements vary greatly depending upon specific projects. All sub-contractors employed, are either qualified to degree level in the relevant subject, are listed as an accredited agent by the Environment Agency or other similar body, hold a CV with at least 3 years experience for the associated work, or are trained by the Ecology Services Limited. Sub-contractors are chosen very carefully, as they represent our company.
